If you are only riding Myakka, you really need to head up to Alafia for an experience you won't forget.

To get there, head up I-75 to the Sun City Center Exit (don't know #) head east until you hit St. Rd. 37 (near Fort Lonesome) O.k., Ft. Lonesome consists of a convenience store and an FP&L Substation. Head North on 37, until you see the sign for Alafia State Park on your right. (Near the crest of a hill, so don't go too fast!!!)

$4.00 per carload. You need a helmet, and you can get trail maps at the Ranger Station (where you pay to get in).

Usually there are about 20 to 30 cars on Saturday or Sunday mornings.
