a) yep, I thought the same thing. The hill is steep, it would have hurt but I assume it would have been safer. It looks like he was mid ditch, thought to keep the bike but couldn't bring it back in. He was a pretty experienced rider but once he hit the air it probably got the better of him
b) this is a successful stunt by all account. Many experienced riders have hit it. Look at the ramp. Really well ridden trail. People crash freeriding, its the risk
