Maybe, but it would, IMO, be a poor one. If one defines an "erratic line" as moving two to three inches in either direction, then yes, it was erratic. However, if that were the case, many riders would be regulated--perhaps, all the sprinters in almost every sprint. Bottom line, as I see it: Visconti made a tactical error in going to his left, when there was plenty of room to his right. He was clearly going much faster than Ulissi, and most likely would have won, had he simply gone to his right.
