I've never understood it when people say that if you lose too much weight, you will climb better, but you will lose power too and your sprinting will suffer. Yes, if you lose muscle mass, but a person who is training regularly will lose fat, not muscle, so this should help perfomance, both on hills and sprints. Of course, if you're doing some kind of crazy diet and losing muscle mass, your weight will decline, but you will feel weaker long before you start to lose muscle mass. And if you're weaker, you wouldn't climb better or sprint better. So what am I missing?
