I didnt say it didnt matter of a fixed gear, its by far the most important place to loose weight on any race bike(assuming similar aerodynamics, or in track bikes weight is usually more important than aero). But when it comes to riding around on the streets, weight isnt really an issue to be concerned about. After aesthetics, weight is the thing that gets the most time, energy, and money wasted on.
