I suggest that you.Change the wheels to alloy from the steel ones which come stock .That should make a big difference.I have found my classic 3 ,which I converted to a fixed wheel to be stiff enough. Here is what else I have done to mine. i changed the handlebars to a wider pair of mountain bike bars put on gel handgrips and wrapped the rest with black and blue cork tape.I changed the saddle and fited 65 psi schwinn branded knobbies.I use this bike for rides of 15 miles or less and for riding on snow and ice. This helps ameliorate cabin fever. I changed the brake levers to more modern mountain bike style which makes the braking better.I have also removed the rear brake as i accomplish braking on the rear wheel by ******ing the pedals.I plan to add a rear rack. Did your bikes come with them?I hope my modifications are instructive.
