Just received an email from Bike Tioga, and it seems interesting. They have a number of rides in the August 6 and 7 weekend, located in
Owego, NY. Registration prices are very low (
USD$15 for one day,
$20 for both days, until Aug 4th), so it's mostly fuel costs and accommodation to worry about.
Owego is
326 Km from home for me, so not too far.
GoogleMap shows the way there... About 650 Km round trip, maybe $50 in gasoline with a light foot on the gas.
Accommodations - Hotels are about USD$110 per night for a suite, could be split between two people. Camping is the best deal - Town of Owego campsite is $15 per site per night, or $21 with water and electricity hook ups.
Here's the
blurb and details :
And the
rides details :
Members of Steve's Hill Climbers League might rejoice at the
2,400 ft of elevation gain in the Century event - that's about 800 meters, (or almost 8 times
Saylor's Hill [one of Niagara's most challenging hill]) of climbing over the course...
Registration Page shows the costs - VERY reasonable!!
