I know that for the racer boy, or the wanna be racer boy, clips are part of the game. However, there is nothing that say they have to be. Tell me why a sane person would display photos of an injury due to a piece of equipment on their bike that they KNOW did/can cause them injury?? In my book admitting you know why you got hurt and still left that piece of equipment on your bike is...well...dumb!

Platform pedals are safer by a wide margin since you can get away from the bike much easier.

That said, you pays your money and you takes your chances...............
The clipless pedal didn't cause that injury, any more than riding the bike did. It was falling that did it. Could the fall have been prevented by not being clipped in? Probably. Could it have been prevented by not riding? Certainly.
