Hi I'm Alec from a village in the County of Angus in Scotland. I have been into bikes for 23 years, when my dad gave me a pile of scrap bikes and some tools and said if you want a bike you can build one. I had a succesion of old 3 speeder bikes, my favourites were Raliegh bikes like Choppers and Grifters. Then I joined the local Bike Club. I had a Carlton Corsair ten speed and a Viking ten speed. I did some touring and racing with them. I eventualy got a really good bike, a Bob Jackson ten speed. I did it up with Suntour 12 speed and sprint rims, it would fly.
I crashed the Corsair into a Ford Capri, took his bumper off with my head. That kind of put me off for a while. I got into building bikes and would spend ages in the shed. I would fix the locals bikes. I would go to sales and get cheap bikes and do them up. I even had a go at frame building and built a few Chunk type choppers.
I even had a job working in a junk shop fixing bikes that they were selling.
