Feeling and actually being are two different things here obviously. Perhaps the new rims are technologically designed different than your previous rims and either feel stiffer or softer and that feels different to you as heavier. Maybe the bearing systems in the hubs are tighter and rolling resistance is not allowing you to get that extra oomph to do the bunny hops easier ? Not sure how much air pressure you had it before, but differences might explain a certain feel too. Just offering suggestions here, nothing scientific. I know when I repainted the frame and put my 2K3 Haro Backtrail X1 back together, it has a different feel than it did or what I remembered it being when I first got it. I also had the wheels trued, that probably has something to do with it too ?
