There is also the Pine Flat Time Trial which is run twice a year in the spring/summer. One is a mass start, the other a true TT. It is a club ride put on by the SRCC. I used to ride that quite often when I lived only 16 miles from it. I saw my first snow in norcal up there, and got hypothermia on the descent. It can get very hot on the wall, the part that goes between 18 and 19 percent for a quarter mile.
While you are in Healdsburg you can check out Geysers Rd. which is used in the Terrible Two, as well as Pine Mountain at the end of Geysers Rd.
Once you get maybe 6 miles up the road, it starts to feel like you've gone a thousand years back in time if you can ignore the power lines and tarmac.
