These are the same bikes everyone else sells, except they've paid to ship them and so pass that cost on to you. BikesDirect does this all the time, of course.
Giant bikes in the US are the same as those cranked out of their factories in Asia. Since they make most of the bikes in the world, anyway, it's a safe bet the same can be said of everyone else.
With this, you simply are not paying for all the middleman costs associated with franchised LBS distribution.
However, you're right - even with shipping from Indonesia you aren't going to come up short on resale.
