No bear in my area, but I have had run-ins with deer, skunk, snapping turtles, snakes, woodchucks and geese. I see them all frequently but thankfully they don't become an issue very often.

I did have a rabbit attack me once ala Monty Python. I was riding down an old railroad trestle that had been converted to be part of the MUP. There was a rabbit near the entrance, and rather than running to the side when I came along it took off down the trestle. About 3/4 of the way across it decided that it was tired of being chased and turned to counter attack. I am not making this up when I say that I ducked and it whizzed over my left shoulder, then ran back down the trestle in the opposite direction. After that I considered carrying the Holy Hand Grenade Of Antioch in my panniers.
