Interesting, never thought of that possibility.

I used to run lower tensions, then I unclipped a few times from a Keo Carbon (not sure if there's a "Max" in there or not). Usually I unclip because I hit the chainstay with my ankle, usually when under extreme duress (and pedaling form goes out the window). Never fell but had a few scares. I've since cranked the tension and have had no problems.

As a big believer in keeping it simple, the Keos work well for me. I have multiple pairs of Ti Aerolites just begging to be used (38g per pedal with cleats, 76g per pair) including one brand new pair but they're maintenance and set-up intensive. So they sit in my basement.
