Huh, I've screwed up my indexing and haven't bothered to fix it so I've been running friction lately. I wonder if I could just leave it friction and throw a 7 speed freewheel on there without too much trouble. Probably not worth it (would have to get freewheel removal tool and possibly a new chain) but it's an old mountain bike that I've converted to a dropbar commuter so it's spaced at 130 mm so it should fit if I decided to go that route. Indexing is nice, but I've occasionally felt the need for more gear inches than my 46x14 can provide currently.
