I have an Escape 1 -- 2010 or 2011? Not sure.
Anyway, it's a good basic bike. It doesn't have fancy components, but everything works. I've taken it on long rides (up to 50 miles), with no complaints.
I changed the handlebars to bullhorns, because my wrists demand more hand positions.
For an additional $100 - 150 or so, I could have had a Specialized Sirrus or a Jamis Coda, but I didn't have that $100 that week. And I only ride this bike for 4 weeks out of the year, when we go to our "summer place".
Ride it and enjoy it.
