Actually me thinks, if we put the glue in the deflated position, then the gap won' t be so prominent as inflated, and we would have a smooth dry, so AL1943's concern would be sorted out.
I didn't know I had a concern.
I've tried filling the hole with super glue with the tire inflated and then partially deflating the tire to put the glue under compression. But I could not see any advantage to doing this.
