Instead of dealing with the inevitable frustration of making my components work with a conversion, I bought a new takeoff group, so I'll be switching out to a 9 speed cassette with a double chain ring. The group is coming with a drop bar, factory installed tape, and cables attached, so all I'll need are travel agents (which I ordered) and a short stem. Hopefully I'll get this all done over the next week.
