I was in great need of a road bike, but I couldn't buy anything just yet. The good news is a friend just gave me an old Fuji Sagres for free. The bad news is the frame is WAY too tall (the headtube is 8.5" long!). I can just *barely* stand tip toed over the frame. Mounting and dismounting is not a problem. Someday I will look for a more suitable bike but what I'm asking, is it really unsafe to be that tall? Should plan on not having kids? I haven't been riding these bikes long enough to know if this will be a huge problem or just an annoyance (I only ride a few times a week).
