I used to put the bike with 26" wheels in the back of the car, but I had to remove the seat post and front wheel and I just got tired of doing that all the time. My 29er won't fit at all unless I remove one of the pedals.

Great pic! Thanks! Seems straightforward. I think the bungee cords are a must. It's tough to find a car that will let you put the bikes inside, but we're also still looking into that.
