hello from michigan
Hi, my name is scott. i hadnt ridden a bike in 30 years. i have let my weight get out of hand, so biking i thougt was out of the question, although i thought i would enjoy it. from a top of 375 lbs i got down to about 325, and this may i bought a trek bike, big tires, upright setting and forward pedals. the guys at the bike shop said it would haul my fat hind end. it did, and i loved it. i put over 500 miles on it and broke a couple spokes on a ride. to make a long story short when i went to pick it up from repairs they said why dont i ride a gary fisher hybrid, so i did. now i own the fisher and love it too. the only problem i am having (besides changing the seat) is that i am having a bit of a challenge with leaning over and putting my weight on my hands. i think that will come in time. i am on the forum to learn. i am going to become a proficient cyclist and become more healthy at the same time. i have lost about another 15 lbs since i got the treck so i am hopefull. i will learn and enjoy from all your posts on this board so thanks for posting.
