Well I am an idiot. I began to fashion up a mounting system using the P-clips that everyone advised as a good solution. Then I noticed threads inside of the large 'bolt' that holds the dropout on. Sure enough, perfectly threaded for a 5mm socket head. FBinNY -- Now that I have discovered that these 'bolts' are internally threaded, there are plenty of mounting locations. Also, it would be tight but I believe there is enough clearance for fenders as well. This really is an enjoyable bike to ride and a step up from my 2007 base model Specialized Hardrock for commuting and normal town travel. Thanks again for everyone's help.
