Have the 50/34 compact double with 11-32 cassette. FD is a 105, RD is ultegra with 105 brifters, crankset is a Rival - shifting is fine, avoid big-big. I live in a hilly area, don't ride with a pack - get buy pretty well with this set up. Late in the summer I was thinking about a new bike with 12-32 and 30-46 crankset, I rarely use the 50-11; once in a great while a lower gear would be nice. market is so crappy going to hold the new bike thought for a couple months
