Convert current CrossCheck or get a complete ?
I am floating two options
Convert CC to fixed
Things I need:
dropout adjusters (I bought the bike used)
shorter chainring bolts
fixed rear wheel, pre-built with a 130mm Surly hub from Handspun
fixed cog with lockring
Should run about $200, from TreeFort Bikes.
or
Buy complete
NOS Specialized Langster for about $450 shipped or pickup Wabi in Downtown LA for about $800 plus or other NOS fixed.
Other considerations, I live in apartment. One bike will have to go to storage. Or current wheel will go to storage. Current cranks are 175mm and I am worried about tagging them on turns.
Not really a true dilemma, but slow work day and I am trying to figure out ways to waste money!!
