70s Star (Miyata) - Minnesota version

Just finished complete teardown and reassembly of my son's 1973-74-75 era Star. Searching Bike Forums and other sites has yielded only some bits of information about this Japanese manufactured bicycle. Curious if anyone has anymore to add...

Previous threads include: 2-7offsuit, and boneshaker79.

Likely made by Miyata, this example has a very similar SR/Shimano component mix as the mid-range offerings shown here in a '74 catalog. Frame serial number (B376076) is Miyata-format for 1973.

Apparently the Star branded bikes were sold locally in Minneapolis at The Alt Bike & Board shop. I told my son to ride it in there next spring and ask the oldest person behind the counter if they recognize it.

Obviously the saddle, and possibly the seat post are later. Suntour bar-end shifters may or may not be original... no marks evident from stem-mounted shifters. Not sure about the Shimano-hubbed 27" Araya steel wheelset.
