Good idea! You don't want the ContourROAM. It is a dumbed-down, crippled camera with a non-removable battery and no 60fps mode.

This is what I did to my ContourHD to reduce wind noise. It helped a little, but I still reduce the volume on descent clips so the viewer doesn't get blasted with wind noise when the video transitions from a climbing clip to a descent.

I read that wind also enters the camera through the gaps between the front LED and the camera case, so that's the reason for the tape over the LED.
