As noted, the Simplex FD with the French style braze-on mount is still easy to find, with at least a couple of them on sale at eBay, used or NOS at any time. You should be able to land an NOS example for about $35 bucks. It would be a good idea to get a spare one though in case the prices on the thing would start to go up substantially as had been happening with a lot of French components lately. The speculators will only need to see a hint of demand and they will instantly raise the price to something ridiculous as the now becoming typical "$150 BIN" prices we've been seeing out there for all sorts of French C&V NOS components.
Mavic also made FDs with similar French style, braze-on mounts, but their design tends to place the FD a bit too high on Peugeot frames at it's lowest setting (I think Mavic had Gitane Pro team frames in mind when they designed their mount). Only consder it for your Peugeot if you have a 53T big ring........or bigger.
