As for width, I used to run 2.25" at both ends, but have now gone down to 2.05" on the rear.
The wider tire did clear at the rear, but only
just barely. It tended to get bogged down by any little mud or crud so I dropped down a size which cured that problem nicely.
They're Maxxis MaxxDaddys, which roll slow as hell, but are grippy and relatively cushy offroad where I run 'em at 20-25 psi.
