LHT? It's all I ride. And you can ride it just about anywhere. Put on fat tires for snow or gravel roads. Put on knobbies for dirt and rocks. I ride 38's (Paselas) all the time, pretty much anywhere I want to go.
Put on racks to haul stuff. Put on fenders when it's raining.
It has bar end shifters- don't know how you'll take to those after brifters.
If you are of the mindset that bike weight determines speed instead of rider determines speed, then look elsewhere. I ride with a guy on a Madone 6.9. Pi$$es him off all the time...
