The Ogre is $535, the LHT is $470.

Surly is powdercoat, Salsa is paint (with fancier decals). Salsa's tend to have nicer features like stainless dropouts. They're not hugely different, but there's some justification for the cost gap.

Salsa changed the Fargo a year or so ago, to a longer fork, so the geometry is more suited to the option of changing to a 100mm travel sus fork. This change did not affect MSRP.

Consider a Surly Ogre or Disc Trucker - you should be able to find these for closer to $400. They're essentially the same as a Fargo, even made in the same Taiwanese factory, but less expensive. QBP is trying to differentiate Salsa products as fancier and justifying the higher price - but they really aren't. They are most likely made of the exact same tubes, same powdercoating, and welded or brazed by the same people. Actually, I think Surly has nicer rear dropouts now, for less money.
