Instead of doing this try to find a kickstand with this sort of atatchment. I use the type with three screws going trough to hold it in place. Drill out the one in the middle and put whatever you choose here instead on the axel.

Difficult to find a good example online in a hurry but yoy should get it from ths picture. A steel one that is not as adjustable as this one would be quite rigid.

Put some pieces of rubber or leather under it to protect your frame.
