If you want a flat bar road bike get the giant, but You aren't really upgrading in quality and as others have said you are giving up the support of the new Trek compared to the used Giant although if you had some sort of frame issue they might still warranty it. I would take the offers for the Trek though because thats a pretty good chunk of money to look for something different. You pick up a few bonus items in the swap if you do that though. There is my 2 cents. =)
