More $$ chain better?

So I am thinking that my type of riding is a little agressive not to mention my weight and climbing also take a toll on my chain. I have the park chain checker http://www.amazon.com/Park-Tool-Chai...2868678&sr=8-2 and it fits inbetween the chain both ways not to mention my chain has just started to slip when I ride. Not on hills but more so at stop lights when I am in a slightly more difficult gear. I will be getting a new chain soon at the very least to have it ready to be replaced or replace before the KOM.

I would like to know if it is worth getting better ($$$) chains, do they actually last longer? I have 105 componets and my current chain is ultegra. Given I ride about 3k miles each year but more elevation each year as well this current chain has lasted me close to 4k miles. Should I get a 105/ultegra/dura ace or does the metal matter more 5700/6600/6700 etc? It looks like Amazon has the best prices.

Thanks
