If you want the longest lasting chain possible, you'll pretty much have to go back to 8-speed.
Everything 9 speed or above doesn't last as long IMO. It's lighter, narrower, and works great, but nothing lasts as long as the old Dura Ace 7400-era, 8-speed stuff.
