They are heavy but I do not notice the extra weight and they have a handy bottle opener on each pedal (good for those after ride beers).
I will say this, I have never slipped off them even in the thickest off mud.
There biggest draw back for most riders is the fact that if you eat sh** they will tear a good size hole in your leg.
