hey y'all,

I bought a Dahon Boardwalk 7 speed two weeks ago and I love biking everywhere in NYC. The only issue is that I don't have a lock, and I don't want to fold up the bike and bring it into a small store with me. I want to lock it up and go into the store for 20 minutes without worrying about the bike. What's a good lock to get for this. Also, should I fold up the bike before I lock it up to a post/bike rack? I don't think I need the Kryptonite NYC Fahgettaboudit. I want to spend under $70.00. I was thinking about getting a U-lock. Are U locks worthless? I also want something light that won't add 10 lbs to my ride. Those kryptonite NYC chains seem heavy. Any info?
