Yep, that's why I bought it...hiking. And for that it's great because that's what it's designed for so I shouldn't complain. But, I noticed when you get moving more than walking pace the map loses detail and all you get is a boring line and have no clue what's around you. I looked in every possible setting and can't see a place to even edit that. Also, the batteries don't live up to the listed time in the manual. I'm lucky to get two hours on a fresh, quality battery. That pretty much makes it useless to me unless I want to carry a pack of batteries everywhere. Maybe I have a lemon... (Shrugs) I'm glad you enjoy it though!
