I rarely wear bike clothes for my current 5 mile commute but back in the 15-10 mile commuting days I liked to have a minimum of 2
pr shorts. I also liked to rinse them well immediately after the return trip, hang to dry, grab the other pair the next morning.
Machine wash/hang dry maybe once a month.
Currently have 4 shorts and 3 jerseys. Getting by just fine.
