A couple of years ago my bf, another friend and I were on a night road ride on a rural road. Good Niterider headlights, etc. Riding slow, 10-12 mph. A huge raccoon jumped out of a ditch right into the back wheel of my bf's bike. Took the bike right out from underneath him. He went down, hit head (helmet) and was knocked out briefly. Trip to ER, grade 3 concussion. We are wary of riding at night now - critters.
