Not sure what your budget is, but check out the Kona Dew if possible. I normally would point out the Giant Escape City as a ready to go rig, but the Dew has slightly wider tires to help soak up the bumps for what are surely some crappy roads and a 11-34 cassette to help climbing the hills.
