flashlight thermal dynamcs?

Okay, I've got an 'Ultrafire 1x18650 5 mode with a claimed maximum output of 510 lumens. I found my helmet (had stashed it inside the trunk bag that I was no longer using) and attempted to mount the light to the helmet using some Velcro cable wraps. Only thing is the alloy body of the light slides too easily on the plastic surface of the helmets shell.

I'm thinking about either wrapping a section of old inner tube or even make a sleeve out of the tube to slide the flashlight into in order to create some friction.

Will doing so raise the temp to the point were it could harm the light or cause the cell to give me a lobotomy?
