The less you drive the more you have to pay per kilometre or per mile. Some of the costs of vehicle ownership are pretty much fixed.

I'm not sure how it works in Colorado. Are you able to drop some parts of the coverage? For instance, if you've got collision and comprehensive coverage, do you need comprehensive or would collision alone be sufficient? This is a matter to discuss with your insurance agent.

As far as not being able to store a bike trailer, have a look at the Burley Flatbed. You can fold down the hitch and remove the wheels. Then it will store quite comfortably in the back of a closet.
