Cynikal - it is the front derailleur (not RD) that is tight. The rear triangle on the Canondale is super tight. Maybe my 35s are on the big side. I am building up the frame and the only 34.9mm FD I have is a MTB triple and it almost hits the tire.

I can't figure out why the RD and the tire would conflict with each other. I had a CX-9 frame with a rival FD and 34mm tufo's. There was never a conflict. Do you have the parts on the bike or just anticipating issues?
