I've heard that a few times myself, I commute everyday and ride 1 weekend day for Rec. all the news lately makes her worry.
On another note lately I have noticed that if I commute with my jacket unzipped and flapping around I have not once had a vehicle buzz me, for the last month I have been doing this and it seems to help, I think from the rear seeing my jacket flapping around it must look either like I'm not going straight and I look much wider than I am
it seems to keep drivers going wide around me.
