Communiting in Atlanta, GA

After getting the kids (almost) out of the house, and getting a new job, I am FINALLY enjoying a daily bike commute. It's a little short (9 miles round trip), but I go rain or shine or ice.

I recently upgraded my '88 rockhopper (which weighed in at 38 lbs with rack, milk crate and lock) for a '98 C'dale front suspension. A bit easier on my 45 year old bones.

For road riding on weekends, I just purchased a '93 Trek 1500. I rode it to work for its first paces today, and felt like I was gliding up the hills. I guess I have to thank my rockhopper for the weight training.

I'd love to hear from more Atlanta commuters: we're a rare breed, it seems. Probably because employers don't supply showers - a must in this temperate rainforest!
