I am the dissenting voice here. I don't like them. You can't squeeze them to get a larger amount of water, faster. If you don't have the sport top, which dispensses water very slowly, you can't drink while riding. They rattle and require additional work to keep from rattling. They may not fit in your bottle cage. If they drop, they dent. They cost more than double vs. plastic water bottle that does not leach plastic taste. Other than the faux vintage look, they have no real benefit.
I can't disagree with anything you say. But I still like them better, partially because of the fact that they're stainless steel. I know what that is, while plastic bottles may come with who knows what chemical in them. I also tend to stop to get a drink, since I'm never racing anyone.
