I don't know if it is the specific glue I use, or the technique, but so far I haven't had this problem while using it every race. I have two jerseys, and both look fine so far. No glue buildup, and no noticeable deterioration of the fabric. I lay the jersey out and decide exactly where the number will go, dust the back of the number lightly with 3M "77" spray, let it dry a few seconds, and then press the number on and pin it. Using another glue I borrowed once wasn't nearly as secure. I see people racing with flapping numbers, even in TT's, and shake my head. Details!
