I had a wire bead Gatorskin fail exactly like that with maybe 300 miles on it (purchased off ebay new.) Fortunately it happened while I was sleeping and not riding the bike. I've also had a cheapo tire blow off the rim 2 feet from my ear while inflating, not fun.
