I commute 55 kms/day 4 days a week with a tri bike mainly because I wanted something a bit faster so I would not spend all day on the road. It's been 7000 kms since I got the bike and I'm still glad I did. The main downside is that you cannot fit fenders or rack on that kind of bike. Personnaly I modified a few things to get it all on the bike, It's Fred but it's working fine for me.
