YES!!!! That will work! When your finally ready to tighten the rack down use blue loctite on the threads and use a nylon locknut. Get the thickest P-clamp you can fit around your rear fork. You may be able to double the thickness of the clamp by taking the rubber covering off one and put two of the metal strips under the rubber covering together.
